Any type of Darjeeling teas – black, white, oolong, green – is ideally consumed without adding milk and sugar. One can add lemon but Darjeeling Tea connoisseurs do not prefer adding sugar or milk as it does not allow full appreciation of the rich and aromatic taste of Darjeeling tea. Before detailing tea brewing procedure, it is useful to know the basics that define the process.

Water – The flavor of Darjeeling tea depends to a great extent on the type of water. It is advisable to use natural spring water or non-carbonated bottled water if tap water is hard to use. Water filter could also be used to filter the tap water.

Steeping – The ideal way to steep Darjeeling tea is by placing the tea leaves in the tea pot. Then allow for the desired infusion and then filter with a second tea pot. It is preferable not to use the metallic-type infusion balls because the tea leaves expand and block the holes thus preventing a proper infusion.

Time – The steeping time required for different Darjeeling Teas really varies according to the tea type, tea flush, tea quantity, and can only be perfected by trial and error till you discover your personal preference. Refer to our guidelines below for the different types of Darjeeling Teas.

Pouring – Before pouring the steeped tea into a teapot for serving, it is advisable to heat the tea pot with boiling water to keep the tea hot for a longer period. The difference in the art of making Green Tea is the process of fermentation and oxidation it undergoes. In the case of Darjeeling Green Tea, processing is somewhat similar with white tea.

Darjeeling Green Tea is a product of Darjeeling India. Cultivated in the best conditions of the mountains of Mahabharat Range or Lesser

Himalaya at an average elevation of 6,710 ft (2,050 m) above sea level, which is the most natural habitat for plants. This environmental condition ensures only high quality tea leaves are being produced.

Processing of Darjeeling Green Tea begins by carefully handpicking the tea leaves and then letting them air dry for some time. After they are completely dried, the leaves are allowed to wither for at least 8 to 24 hours to let excess water to evaporate. Once they are completely dried they are steamed or pan fried, this process prevents oxidation and neutralizes the enzymes. After steaming, the leaves are rolled up in varying tightness and are finally set aside to dry in place. This method of preparation does not let oxidation to take place making the leaves retain its green color; the antioxidants and polyphenols kept for their health benefits.

Darjeeling teas | Darjeeling Green Tea | Buy Darjeeling Tea

Comments Leave a Comment

Categories Darjeeling Tea Information

<comment> /.post-meta </comment>
<comment> /.post </comment>

India Organic Farming Now Has 4.4 Million Hectares
 19 Oct

In this post, we are going to discuss about the state of Organic Farming in India. Even though we are solely focused on Darjeeling Tea, Organic farm methods have become the heart of the Darjeeling tea industry in recent years and with every year passing, more plantations are converting to organic.

Darjeeling teas Garden

The last six years has been superior in growth in organic farming industry in India. And this includes the Darjeeling tea businesses that are totally committed to 100% chemical-free method of cultivation. From the previous 42,000 hectares in 2003 to 2004 it has now ballooned to 4.4 million hectares as of March 2010. This is very good news not only to Darjeeling tea businesses, but also for productions requiring organic farming like cereals, honey, tea, spices, fruits, pulses, vegetables, oil seeds, cotton fiber, cosmetics and body care products.

To ensure that with the vast production, quality is never affected, India internationally acclaimed certifications were set in place. Like with the Darjeeling teas, the Tea Board of India awards only their seal to the tea estates that are consistently producing high quality Darjeeling teas. And to help organic farmers and Darjeeling tea industry owners, the Ministry of Agriculture is promoting all the products through different government and non-government agencies like the National Project on Organic Farming, National Horticulture Mission, Technology Mission for North East and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.

Tags: Darjeeling Tea, Darjeeling Teas, first flush darjeeling tea

Comments Leave a Comment

Categories Darjeeling Tea Information

<comment> /.post-meta </comment>
<comment> /.post </comment>

Indian Tea production increased in 2011
 18 Oct

According to the Tea Board of India, tea production rose 6.37% from

<img data-attachment-id="59" data-permalink="https://teaexperts.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/indian-tea-production-increased-in-2011/chaip_teapwithering/" data-orig-file="https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg" data-orig-size="490,368" data-comments-opened="1" data-image-meta="{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":""}" data-image-title="chaip_teapwithering" data-image-description="
Buy The Finest Darjeeling Tea!- Organic First (1st), Second (2nd) & Autumn (3rd) Flush Teas direct from Darjeeling Tea Gardens
" data-medium-file="https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg?w=300&h=225" data-large-file="https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg?w=490" class="size-medium wp-image-59" title="chaip_teapwithering" src="https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg?w=300&h=225" alt="" width="300" height="225" srcset="https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg?w=300&h=225 300w, https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg?w=150&h=113 150w, https://teaexperts.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/chaip_teapwithering.jpg 490w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" />
Indian Tea production

January to July 2011 compared to 2010.

Tea output increased to 491.59 million kg compared to last year’s production of 462.16 million kg. Similarly to how a hard drive or a modern SSD device holds your files, a server holds all the files the website needs to operate. To load a webpage, your browser needs to contact the said server and request files - strings of code that make up the website into what it is, including images, text and database entries. Each physical server has a unique IP address that is used by the browser to contact it.
