Meta description | Manufacturers of specialist NDT test equipment: Spark Testers, Holiday Detectors, Subsea Cathodic Protection - BathyCorrometer - Coating Testing.Buckleys (UVRAL) Ltd. was formed in 1926 by the Buckley brothers from Putney, London, to sell ultra-violet ray arc lamps (hence the name UVRAL), used in early photographic production. The Hoveman family took over Buckleys in 1942 and the company moved from its Putney base to Hythe (in the south east of England) in 1973. In June 2010 the company relocated to Shearway Business Park in Folkestone. Since the early 1960?s, Buckleys has specialised in the manufacture of test and inspection equipment. Continuous investment in research and development has resulted in the comprehensive range of high/low voltage equipment available today. This includes DC holiday detectors and cable testers, AC spark testers, wet-sponge testers, leak detectors and a range of sub-sea inspection equipment. Buckleys has also diversified into fields such as ozone production, anti corrosion systems, medical equipment and a wide range of embedded microprocessor based systems. The company is ISO 9001 accredited. Renowned for its outstanding product range and proven record of top class customer care, Buckleys offers customers a prompt, reliable service, worldwide. Measuring hidden potential Buckleys manufacture a range of subsea corrosion monitoring equipment specifically designed to determine the corrosion status of underwater structures such as piers, jetties, pipelines and ships’ hulls. The BathyCorrometer® is a diver-held unit which will measure the corrosion potential at specific contact points. Although the readings are visible to the diver, our Surface Display Unit can display readings onboard a ship or diving platform. For Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), the UCP1A contact probe or UCP1B proximity probe can be easily installed to carry out unmanned corrosion surveys. Simple surveys of marine structures can also be carried out by the use of a Marine Survey Kit. AC Spark Testers Buckleys manufacture two types of spark tester which provide a quick and convenient method of testing the integrity and locating defects in a variety of coatings. Spark Testers generate AC voltages of typically between 10 and 55kV. They are used for testing thicker non-conductive coatings and linings of between 3mm and 30mm over conductive materials. Spark Testers have no audible or visual alarms to indicate a fault and rely on the operator to observe a spark jumping through a flaw in the coating material. Due to their AC high-frequency operation they can find faults in 100% coated articles without requiring an earth-return connection. The PST-100 Spark Tester is a lightweight, ergonomic, hand-held spark test pistol which provides a quick and cost-effective method of inspecting thicker coatings and linings. Coating thicknesses of between 3mm and 30mm can be tested. The PST100 generates a pulsed-ring output voltage which can be adjusted between 10kV and 55kV. Two variants are available; depending on the input voltage being used. The T50 has a 230V input whilst the T52 uses a 110V input. Both models can be purchased on their own (T50B/T52B), as a standard kit or as a comprehensive kit (T51 or T53). ST-AC Pro’ The ST-AC Pro’ Spark Tester is a compact yet robust AC spark tester which provides a convenient method of inspecting thicker coatings and linings. Coating thicknesses of between 3mm and 30mm can be tested. The ST-AC Pro’ generates a pulsed-ring output which is adjustable between 10kV and 55kV. The input voltage can be switched between 110V and 230V AC via a switch on the reverse of the unit’s aluminium casing. The ST-AC Pro’ comes with a 2m test probe lead, making it ideal for testing in confined or awkward spaces whilst the unit’s folding stand/carry handle makes it even more convenient and portable. The ST-AC Pro’ is available on its own (T7P) or as a comprehensive kit with a range of accessories and electrodes (T7PA); making it ready-to-use for most applications. DC Pinhole/Holiday Detectors A high-voltage DC holiday detector is a quick and effective means of locating defects and faults in non-conductive coatings over conductive materials. The detector unit is used in conjunction with a suitable electrode and passed over the entire coating area. Weak spots, faults and pinholes are located by the completion of an electrical circuit through the defect to the conductive material beneath; triggering the detector unit’s alarm. DC pinhole/holiday detectors have a wide range of applications across numerous industries; from locating leaks in flat roofs to integrity-testing corrosion resistant coatings on pipelines; from testing cable insulation to locating faults on waterproof bridge-deck coatings. Buckleys manufacture a wide range of electrodes and accessories for our detectors; designed to make the testing process as effective and as quick as possible. In addition to this, we offer a range of kits which have been created with a specific purpose in mind and include a combination of accessories which are optimised for that application; such as our PHD Pro’6S, PHD Pro’30S and PHD Pro’40S kits. We also manufacture electrodes to customers’ specifications as well as offering innovative solutions to unique testing situations or environments. Dry Roof Leak Detectors Buckleys Roofing Test Kits enable inspectors to quickly and effectively test non-conductive roof finishes (such as bitumen, liquid-applied, single-ply and asphalt) for pinholes, porosity and other defects. Our dry roof leak detectors are able to test a wide range of membrane thicknesses - between 16µ and 25.6mm depending on which model you choose. Kits contain everything required to start testing immediately (even batteries and charger), all contained in a robust, high-visibility transit case. Dry roof leak detectors utilise the non-conductive properties of roof membranes as an electrical insulator whilst the substrate beneath the membrane conducts electrical current and is earthed to the structure of the building. The detector unit is also earthed to the building and the test probe is connected to the positive side of the detector, creating an ‘open circuit’. As the detector passes a defect in the membrane, the current required to complete an electrical circuit reduces due to the lower dialectric strength of the membrane. As an electrical circuit is created, current ‘jumps’ the gap to earth; triggering the detector unit’s alarm. The Wet Roof Pro’ The Wet Roof Pro’ has been designed to locate leaks on flat roofing systems which incorporate dielectric membrane overlays, such as single-ply, asphalt, bitumen and liquid applied roofs. The Wet Roof Pro’ uses the conductive properties of water (from either rainfall or a hose) to pinpoint leaks. The kit comprises two main elements; a generator unit and a detector unit. The generator unit creates an electrical field across the roof surface via a ‘boundary wire’ which is positioned around the perimeter of the test area and connected to the positive terminal on the generator unit. The negative terminal is connected to a suitable earth on the building’s structure. Leaks in the roof membrane allow water to penetrate to the building’s structure; creating a short circuit. The detector unit is connected to two hand-held test probes which are held in contact with the roof surface. By measuring the voltage differential between the test probes, the detector unit is able to direct the operator to the location of the leak. | To make sure all the meta description is visible in search results page, Google recommends length of up to 320 characters at the most. Similarly to how a hard drive or a modern SSD device holds your files, a server holds all the files the website needs to operate. To load a webpage, your browser needs to contact the said server and request files - strings of code that make up the website into what it is, including images, text and database entries. Each physical server has a unique IP address that is used by the browser to contact it.
